I used this card for a while, when I was experimenting various takes on Jeskai Fires. The trouble with it is that I can only really imagine it working in conjunction with Fires of Invention, because it leaves all of your mana available. Even then, it requires a specific arrangement to be effective, rendering its use random. Being that you need a red card to make this mono-dominant blue card work, the deck needs to be weighted toward blue - I found that to be less effective than incorporating more white cards, and ended up throwing out Castle Vantress. I may post the version of Jeskai Fires that I ended up with, but in truth, I'm still very dissatisfied with the game itself - the deck is more control-oriented, and while I found it to be more effective than the versions used by pros in the World Championship, it is inconsistent, unfair, and inevitably a waste of time. I consider the winners to be lottery picks who devoted theirselves far, far too wholly to MTG, for a wild shot at an insufficient income. |
