3/29/16 - The measure of how Good you are is the extent to which you obey your mind, in my theory. I think everyone has a natural knowledge of right and wrong, and it is merely the individual's willingness and desire to do what is right. Can you always be 100% correct, never doing anything wrong? No, but the entirety of your intention can be right and true, and you should want to live your life never intending to harm another. It is difficult to know what is right in a given situation, so considering this must be practiced and developed. Your sense of ethicality is what will allow you to be correct - it takes a sort of transcendent knowledge to know the best way of dealing with some situations. If you don't truly want to be right, you won't invest yourself in the pursuit of knowing the truth - it takes a sort of obsession to know this, and all of the great philosophers understood this as the key to their knowledge. A bad philosopher will come up with idea after idea that a good philosopher can easily destroy, and I believe that this is due to the basis upon which their ideas were formed - their intention in conducting logical analysis of reality was evil (they weren't honest philosophers), and they conceive faulty notions. Socrates, considered the father of philosophy, made a business (though he preached his philosophy for free) of destroying such ideas, and he was executed by an ignorant population for his free-thought. His philosophy was passed on orally, and perhaps much of it was lost in translation, but I will do my best to relate some of his concepts in my "thoughts", and describe how they relate to my own, novel concepts of reality. |
