4/23/17 - "God and Satan" A lot of people hear church-goers singing "This is the day the Lord has made", and think of them as ignorant, just a bunch of uneducated fools. But what if a mind actually is creating every aspect of your daily experience, the natural expression of God's imagination? Most people who don't like the idea of a God watching over them reject the notion because they don't want to be subject to His judgement, and want to believe in personal control. In a God-less world, there is not necessarily a reason to be ethical, and atheism allows a person to believe that there aren't any consequences for their actions, aside from punishment by human law. That's a dangerous belief to have, it makes the world seem a much darker place. If you believe that God is creating your experience, and you want to have a good life, you'll likely want to please Him - not feeling free to willfully disobey your own mind, or conscience. This is a healthy belief for people to have. God knows this, and sometimes gives us evidence of His existence, so that you will believe in Him, and try to do the right thing. He also refuses to give evidence of Himself to individuals, allowing them to be free of that oppressive knowledge. What it usually comes down to is that you'll believe whatever you want. I believe God substantiates your intentions, verifying to you either that He is real, or that He is false. People are proud of what they want, and will follow their inherent desire to the end - willing for the best in people, or the worst in people, aiming to heal or to infect. So many people cry, "Why is there evil in the world??"...Examine yourself for any evil desire you might hold. There is evil in the world because you want there to be, and it maintains its power through your belief in it. Some people even worship "Satan". Why do I believe that God is inherently Good? Anyone will notice that their mind makes ethical dictates to them, commanding them against intentional harm, and making them feel proud when they lend a helping hand. What has become known in psychology as the "conscience" could be described as the character of your mind, its natural tendency. Why does it exhibit that tendency? Satanism might truly be a joke when you consider that the followers of such a belief are only wishing that evil would be Master, but evil is mindless. They are children fascinated by horror, trying to scare their selves and elicit excitation. Such beliefs are a fetish. But we can't ignore that there is an evil component to the psyche, and I believe that there exists a natural dichotomy between consciousness and the mind, one being essentially good, and the other evil. My theory is that the consciousness is entirely evil, but the mind directly inhibits it from acting; since, it is the mind of God, an inherently good thing. Without the mind, you are insane. Life could not get along without a mind, for it constantly thinks and instructs the consciousness as to how it should proceed. If two creatures were hungry and wanted the same source of food, their consciousness would tell them to kill the other and take it - that may be the evil truth about survival, but as we achieved higher evolution, we began more and more to cooperate through consideration. If one thing just attacks the other for survival, it also may be forfeiting its life. While consciousness and instinct are primitive animal functions that keep a creature alive, they know only war. The realization that the possibility of mutual survival exists is a product of thought, attributable to the mind. Once the mind has found an ally it rejoices, but soon the pair or group of allies will run into strangers and consciousness immediately reacts to those as enemies. Consciousness makes the mind fearful and suspicious, not knowing the truth about those it encounters. Humans developed the ability to speak, and so used this tool as the first means of control, and we began to make "friends" of everyone we encountered as a means of maintaining safety. Application of the mind allows higher forms of survival. Greater self-control maintains a cooperative situation, but the consciousness is evil. It ruins cooperative situations. Today the world is still in a state of perpetual war because we have yet to gain adequate control over consciousness. War results from resource control, and the concept of ownership. These fundamental problems will not easily be resolved, but the first step is to recognize that you, as an individual, are fixated upon primitive, instinctual concerns. Your consciousness demands that the only way for you to protect yourself and your possessions is to strategically guard them. The only way to acquire the things that other people possess is to cooperate, or steal. Some people believe adamantly in their consciousness, and try to own slaves. Consciousness tries to reach beyond its necessity if possible, as a means of deriving pleasure. Sometimes the only thing that stands in its way is the mind. I am certain that the mind is inherently good because it punishes itself for these such goals. While the mind does not make it impossible to own slaves, it ruins the experience of the possessor. The mind turns to self-loathing, horrified at its obsession with consciousness. Take only what you deserve, allowing others the same right, and you will be much more fundamentally happy. If everyone were to understand this, and desire it, we could begin to solve our problems. Unfortunately, those who desire control over others focus their energies on domination, and they often control human organization, directing our activity. An evil mind that dominates with a selfish agenda is still a mind, and it necessarily controls itself. Using the mind is not a dominator's agenda. They are at war with their mind to obey consciousness. This does not make for good leadership. Civilization still functions, trampling countless lives in its wake, but it does not achieve enlightenment. Peace-loving people are usually afraid, or unmotivated to involve their selves in human affairs. They know that if they become too large an influence, they will be viciously attacked by threatened individuals and groups. Bullies with a vast knowledge of their consciousness have countless tricks up their sleeves, and they usually try to manipulate the rules to incriminate innocent agendas. It is a rule, for example, that a home owner has the right to kick their child out of their house on to the street. It isn't illegal to do that, and they are sovereign dictators of what is right and wrong. For any absurd reason, the home-owner may declare "You are wrong!" and have you forcefully removed from their home, to starve, freeze and die. Clearly, this sets the stage for abuse of power, the thing consciousness most loves. The only justice in those situations is the punishment from the evil lord's own mind, and they will feel the weight of their crime against God. How can the enlightened win over the prevalent presence of evil? If the mind is God, it must be more powerful than consciousness, which is Not. Examine the highest forms of mind being utilized - the knowledge derived from real thinking finds its way into the conversation, and all are aware of the presence of God's mind in their life. It oppresses the corruption of humans, haunting them until they die. Inevitably, it finds an undeniable voice. |
